Intention
We intentionally chose cardamom as one of eight essential oils found in our Evening Body Serum and Evening Aromatherapy Candle because of its multi-layered scent, warm and spicy to a little seductive, comforting, and needed, especially after a mentally exhausting and stressful day.
Scent Note
Cardamom is a Middle note, and its multi-layered scent will emerge beautifully against the bergamot, cedarwood, palo santo, and ylang ylang essential oils found in Evening Body Serum and Evening Aromatherapy Candle. Its aromatic profile is warm, sweet, spicy, exotic, slightly woody, and even a little seductive.
Evening Ritual Inspiration
As you enjoy Evening Body Serum's scent, begin to find calm and balance to clear your head from worry. A good practice is to light our candle and write your thoughts in a journal as it helps to promote mental clarity to regain focus. A calmer mind will enable you to sleep more peacefully.
Background
Cardamom, a symbol of luxury, has been used since ancient times and was often used in social ceremonies in ancient Greece and Rome. Cardamom has value as one of the most expensive spices globally after saffron and vanilla. It is native to southern India and used in Ayurveda for over 3,000 years. Cardamom comes from the Zingiberaceae plant family, the same family that also produces ginger and turmeric.
Extraction Method
The steam distillation of the seeds of Elettaria cardamomum produces cardamom essential oil.
