JASMINUM GRANDIFLORUM FLOWER EXTRACT

Jasmine — warm, floral and alluring

Evidence

Used for calming the nervous system: SOURCE

Intention

We intentionally chose jasmine as one of eight essential oils found in our Evening Body Serum and Evening Aromatherapy Candle because of its intoxicating scent, which may reignite a memory that changes your mood. Especially crucial if your day has left you feeling tense or stressed. It's essential to be calm and relaxed at night, as this emotional state will help you avoid a restless night.

Scent Note

Jasmine is a Middle Base note. Its aromatic profile is warm and floral, blends beautifully with the bergamot, cedarwood, and ylang ylang essential oils found in Evening Body Serum and Evening Aromatherapy Candle.

Evening Ritual Inspiration

Be a Queen of the Night in your own home and give yourself permission to take the night off, dine by candlelight, and take a warm bath. Massage Evening Body Serum into warm, damp skin, light our Evening Aromatherapy Candle, and then dress in something silky to round out your evening.

Background

The jasmine flower comes from the Oleaceae plant family and is thought of as one of nature's aphrodisiacs because of its seductive scent. The flower's harvest is typically performed at night (or before the sun rises) when the white blossoms are at their most fragrant. Jasmine appropriately has the nickname "Queen of the Night"!

Extraction Method

The essential oil from jasmine is produced via solvent extraction because the small white flowers are so delicate. The essential oil is quite expensive as it takes a lot of flowers to make very little oil.

CANANGA ODORATA FLOWER OIL

Ylang ylang — floral, sweet and sultry

Evidence

Helps to reduce anxiety and boost self-esteem: SOURCE

Intention

Ylang ylang essential oil found in Evening Body Serum and Evening Aromatherapy Candle was intentionally chosen because of its warm, sweet floral scent, a welcome distraction from a frazzled mind.

Scent Note

As a Middle Base note (along with cedarwood, jasmine and, palo santo), ylang ylang brings depth and stability. Its aromatic profile, floral, sweet, sensual, and faintly musky, is beautiful against the bergamot, cardamom, cedarwood, jasmine, and yuzu essential oils found in our serum and candle.

Evening Ritual Inspiration

As you use our serum, enjoy its aromatics and release any negative emotions. Expand your heart and turn your room into a romantic, relaxing sanctuary by dimming the lights or lighting our beautiful candle.

Background

Ylang ylang, pronounced ee-lang·ee-lang, comes from the Annonaceae Plant family, which, interestingly enough, contains only one species — Cananga odorata, known as the Cananga tree. In Malayan, ylang ylang means "flower of flowers." Best known for its aphrodisiac qualities, ylang ylang originates from South East Asia.

Extraction Method

Ylang ylang is steam and water distilled in stages called fractions from the beautiful flowers of the large, tropical ylang ylang tree to obtain its essential oil.
